We had a great time representing the San Leandro Historical Railway Society at the 107th San Leandro Cherry Festival on June 4th! Society members Dominic & Trisha Fawver set up the booth and held down the fort most of the day, with members Peter Garrison, Mark Johnson, Edson Lee, Stan Voogd, and Pat Stratton all coming by throughout the day to help out and talk to attendees!
The main topic was our newly repainted Depot! A few people said they noticed it driving up Davis St. on their way to the Cherry Festival and wondered about it, so they were glad to learn more. We handed out all of our flyers for our upcoming Summer 2016 Open House & Train Show, July 16th & 17th, and saw a few familiar faces of past guests that have already explored the Depot. They were excited to hear about the paint and planned on coming by soon to see the new look!
As the Society participates in more community events, we\’re still perfecting the look of our table and booth presentation. Next on our list is a good sign to be used as well as perhaps a small wooden train set to attract attention! If you have a wooden set to donate, or would like to donate some funds for us to get a new set, please click here to donate!
